Vyncs is a product of over 25 years of research and development in the field of connected cars and data science. The work originated from the early research on vehicle telematics data management and analysis in collaboration with Daimler-Chrysler back in 1996 when our co-founder Dr. Kargupta was at the United States Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The work continued and the technology evolved over time producing several patents (e.g. US Patent 7715961, 8478514). Back in 2001, our research produced an early design of a telematics device with an OBD-II interface as shown in Figure 1.
